Just what is a FULL Contraband Detection Canine?
At Interquest, our working partners consist of highly trained contraband detection canines possessing the ability to detect not only the illegal narcotic odors, (Marijuana, Cocaine, Methamphetamines, LSD, Ecstasy, and Heroin) but GUNPOWDER based items, (Firearms, Ammunition, Pipe bombs and, Fireworks) and ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, (Beer, Wine, Wine Coolers, and all Distilled Spirits) No canine will ever visit your campus without the skills listed above. Our purpose is simple: to determine and deter the presence of contraband.

Why does Interquest employ ONLY non-aggressive, passive alert canines?
All Interquest Detection Canines® of Los Angeles canines are non-aggressive Labrador and Golden Retrievers whom signal an alert by sitting at the source of odor. Our canines do not scratch in the presence of odor, thus protecting schools and student property. At Interquest, it is important to us that we in no way interrupt the learning process. There will never be an instance where the Administration will need to hold bells due to a canine in the hallways. We welcome students approaching our teams. This camaraderie is evidenced in the many proms and sporting events our canines receive special invitations to attend.

Are Interquest Canines certified as reliable?
At Interquest, all of our canines are certified through independent testing agencies as reliable.

Are Interquest Handlers proficient and well trained?
Without question the staff of Interquest has received the finest training available in our industry. They are not only trained in the proper handling of highly trained canines, but also possess people skills that enable them to conduct themselves professionally in every instance. Interquest handlers routinely train with members of the Los Angeles Police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Canine Teams staying on top of the latest trends in narcotics and contraband detection. Our staff is trained to provide education to classrooms, faculty in-service training, and student assemblies, thus meeting every aspect of FEDERAL and STATE FUNDING. Our topics stem from School Safety & Violence, Contraband Awareness, and the Fourth Amendment.

Is Interquest too large to meet our individual needs?
In 1998, U.S. News & World Report, reporting in its October 5 th edition, named Interquest "The largest, most reputable canine detection service in the nation." Interquest Detection Canines® is franchised out, which means the clients get the best of both worlds. You get local management, with the resources of a nationwide company. Our canine teams can respond to emergencies anywhere in Los Angeles County in less than one hour. All handlers are equipped with alpha numeric pagers and can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to whatever need you may have.
